The Committee of the Wimbledon Philosophical Society is working on future events with local potential speakers, authors, and poets.
Usually we have 4 or 5 live speaker events each year in addition to a Summer Garden Party with poetry in June/July and an AGM in October followed by a speaker.
We are delighted to announce our next meeting (please note some details and venues may change). If you intend to come to a meeting, please, RSVP by emailing the chairman (elnanno@syr.edu). Events are free to members, £10 donation if you bring a guest.
On Tuesday, 28 April, 6:30–8:30pm, we will be joined by His Excellency Dr Husam Zomlot – Head of the Palestinian Mission to the UK, former Ambassador to the United States, and Strategic Affairs Advisor to the Palestinian President. The evening will be held in the Lingfield Room at Wimbledon Village Hall, a warm and intimate setting that seats around 40 guests.
Dr Zomlot will open with a talk of 40–45 minutes, followed by a short refreshment break (always a welcome opportunity for informal conversation), before we close with 30 minutes of Q&A. We are truly honoured to be welcoming an active ambassador, and the occasion promises to be a particularly rich and thought-provoking evening.
Space is very limited, so please RSVP at your earliest convenience.
